About this role

The Legislative Assembly Committee Office is seeking a resourceful and motivated researcher to support parliamentary committees. In this role, you will work closely with a Principal Research Officer to provide research, administrative support, and advice to Members across all political parties. You will prepare documents including correspondence, meeting papers, and inquiry reports, while also helping committees engage with stakeholders and organize public hearings and events. This position offers unique exposure to Western Australia's Parliament and considerable autonomy within the public sector.

Requirements

  • Australian citizen, permanent resident, or New Zealand citizen with Special Category visa
  • Strong research and analytical skills with ability to process large volumes of information
  • Excellent writing and communication skills for diverse audiences
  • Event organization and logistical skills including managing public hearings
  • Ability to work apolitically with elected Members of diverse political opinions
